Welcome to my blog! I created this blog so that I could share with you my experiences as a mother and wife, and as a woman. "MomzDre" is a term that my nephew, Louis, came up with as he began to learn spanish. I found it to be a very clever word because it combines the words Mom and Madre. I have been married for over 20 years and I am the mother of two daughters. I have a pet dog, who is like a child :) I love the Lord! He encourages me through all things. I hope that my blog encourages and inspires all those who read it. May you be blessed!

Staying on Track!

It is mid-January and I am trying very hard to stay on track with my new Decade Resolutions. Isn't it funny how every time you set your mind to accomplish something, the forces of nature seem to try and come against you. For instance, notice how the phone starts to ring when you are very busy working on something important. Or, when you are praying about something specific, distractions come raining down. Well, I am determined to stay on track. Even though I am taking baby steps, I plan to gradually pick up the pace. I am glad that I have God in my life to give me strength when I don't feel like there is enough time in the day to accomplish everything that I need to. All I have to remember is "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," and "With Christ, all things are possible." After meditating on those two scriptures, I feel renewed. Be encouraged today - God loves us! Peace out.

Sunday, my favorite day of the week!

Hi All,

Yes, Sunday is my favorite day of the week. I love going to church with my family, serving in the church cafe, and hearing the message that God has for me every Sunday. Today was extra special because my husband and I went to brunch with two of our favorite pastors, Lowell & Evelyn White. They are a true blessing to our family and we love spending time with them. THEY ROCK! Today, my daughter Juana, gave me a quote that is very inspirational and I am going to savour it. She said "We are either worrying and not praying, or praying and not worrying". Well, I am choosing to PRAY AND NOT WORRY, because the bottom line is when we worry, we are choosing to distrust God. God tells us so many times in the Bible to trust in Him and have faith in Him. In fact, it is impossible to please Him without faith. Nothing is impossible for Him. So again, I am not worrying this year, or ever again. God has my back - Hallelujah!

P.S. Thank you Juana - You Rock too!

Getting into the new year groove!

Hello All!

We are well into the second week of 2010 and I am starting to get my groove on. Things are picking up and I have been busy trying to adjust with a new attitude, outlook and perspective on life. I heard a minister say that the number "10" means testimony. So, I am probably going to have a great testimony this year. I am praying that God would reveal and share with me what His plans are for me this year, and I am determined to be obedient in following His will for my life. Peace Out!

Happy New Year!

WOW 2010! It's the beginning of a new decade. So, I am not only going to make some new years resolutions, but I am going to make some new decade resolutions and goals. This is a first for me. I usually don't even make new years resolutions because I believe that the average person doesn't keep them anyway. Since I don't consider myself average (God's children are not average), I am going to step out of my comfort zone and start the decade off right. YES! Okay, here we go. 1. Get up earlier to spend time with God and seek Him first in every situation. 2. Try to be a blessing to everyone that I come in contact 3. Lose 10-15 pounds. 4. Rethink my career plans and pray hard for God's direction with this decision. 5. Anything else that comes into mind I am going to add to the list.

I pray that God will bless every person reading this blog.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

WOW, Today's the Day! Today is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. All the gifts are wrapped and the family is fast asleep. I am taking a few minutes for some "Jesus and me" time. I am taking a moment to reflect and give thanks for all that God has blessed me with this year. All of the people that He put in my path to share, support, listen and advise me. If I don't receive one gift this year, it won't matter because I have already received the ultimate gift. That gift would be God's only son, Jesus Christ and all that He has done for me! What more could I ask for? What more is there? Jesus truly is the reason for the season! Candlelight service at church last night was awesome. It just occured to me that Christmas does not have to end after today, but we should celebrate the birth of Christ everyday. We should share the gift of God's love everyday. PEACE OUT!

Life & Lemonade!

Hello Everyone! Thank God for another beautiful day. I believe life is about choices. Today I chose to be happy in spite of some challenges that were thrust upon me. Today was the perverbial "when life serves you lemons, make lemonade". My daughter is standing over me saying "no mama, when life throws you lemons, throw them back". Well I like that one too. Anyway, by God's grace I made it through, just like HE promises. That is why I had a beautiful day. Buenos Noches!

The Christmas Season!

Tis the season to be jolly! Well, I am joyous and jolly because I celebrate the reason for the season. Jesus Christ is the reason for the season and that brings me great joy. In spite of what I see or hear on the news about how bad the economy is or how low the unemployment rate is, my joy and strength comes from the Lord. This year in particular I refuse to get caught up in the hype and commercial element that has been connected with the Christmas season. I refuse to allow myself to get stressed out about going to the mall to fight the crowds in the stores, parking lots, restaurants, etc. This year I will stop and smell the roses and praise God that my family and I are healthy and strong, that we are blessed in many ways and have a lot to be thankful for. I will try this year to give love instead of presents. Love is a gift that God has given us. He instructs us to love one another and that love is the greatest gift that we can give. He gave us HIS son, Jesus Christ. That is what I celebrate. So when I think of the Christmas season, I will no longer dread shopping or wondering what gift is appropriate to give to someone. I will give the gift of love and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!
